Default What rims and tires for my Dads chevelle?

My dad just picked up a 71 chevelle SS. It is yellow with black stripes. The car is really sharp, but the stock wheels are quite the eye soar. He is letting me have some say in what wheels he should get for it, so I figured I would bring it up with you guys. If you have seen rims that looked sweet on a chevelle or have any good recomendations on what would look good. Stock rims are 15'' I think a 17'' would look good, but he thinks that more tire sidewall would look better. I will post pics after we make the decision.

American Racing Torq Thrust II with gunmetal spokes. http://www.americanracing.com/wheels...0rim&section=V
It will compliment the black stripes.

TT2s are so overplayed in the musclecar scene. I had Intro GT Sports on my '69 Camaro and they always drew a crowd. www.ExtremeG.net

I have a beautiful set of HRE's in 17" for sale.

They are 9.5 fronts and 10.5 rears. Looking to get $1600 for the set with no tires.

thanks,
Kevin

Default it depends on what ur doing with the car...

if ur setting it up as a street type car torque thrust's and if not weld racing makes a bad set of wheels

Those HRE's look like the old Pontiac cross-laces.

Yeah pretty similiar except my lugs are concealed. More of a GTP race car look with the single center locking cap.

They should also fit a first gen as I had them on my 69 TA for about a week, only thing was that I had a Ford 9' rear.
