Tried a vig4000 and lost et&mph
Well I thought I'd try a VIG4000 after running my Yank ST3500 and here are the results. The only thing the Vig gave me was a slightly better 60 ft is.
5/6/06 ---- 5/19/06
YANK ---- --- VIG
1.671 - 60ft - 1.637
4.893 -330ft - 4.907
7.622 - 1/8 - 7.674
90.02 -mph - 88.24
11.989 -1/4 - 12.200
112.92 -mph -107.47
Both where done with the same tires /gas and the weather was a little better on 5-19-06 then 5-6-06.
So now I might try a friends TCI3500 to see how it compares to the YANK which seems to work the best in my car.Maybe if I had more power the vig would work better. Both times where done with 17" nittos and stock manifolds.

PS my race weight is 3375 with me in car and thats with 17" tires ,6pt rollbar and the factory front leather seats.
empty weight is like 3180 street trim
so race trim would be under 3000 if I took out the bar and put a race seat in it and put some borgarts on again.

Better air and still that much of a drop in performance??? Wow! Yank should be paying you to tell the world of your experience. I've got a Yank and I'll never try another converter especially after hearing this from you. I wonder what a PT series would do for you instead of the ST. I've got a PT4000. That's why I'm wondering. BTW, those headers I got from you were seriously the ticket. Thanks again for that deal.

Do you have a real need for testing inferior parts on your car? I dont think you'll pick up **** from SLP headers. The Vig stuff is good below their #6 (3200) stall, but you really need to lock them up to get near the efficiency of a Yank. The 5 disk converters work really well (similar % eff. to Yank).

Also I have heard for years that the Vigilante converters are not efficient. I can tell you for sure that the Vigilante converters (2800 and a 3200) that I have owned were 91% efficient at 5000rpm and 94% above 5800rpm which is good.

okay the runs with the yank where at Richmond Dragway , Sandston va 23150
and the runs with the Vig where at Virginiamotorsports , Petersburg Va 23803
heres a break down of the slips
VMP w / vig 5-19-06 zipcode 23803
1) 1.81 60ft = 12.39@108.05 @8:09pm
2) 1.63 60ft = 12.20@107.47 @8:50pm
3) 1.63 60ft = 12.26@106.61 @9:43pm track closes at 10pm
Richmond w/Yank 5-6-06 zipcode 23150
1) 1.67 60ft = 11.98@112.92 @5:48pm
2) 1.68 60ft = 11.97@113.01 @7:51pm
these track are about 30 miles apart from each other.I think the weather was better on 5-19 felt cooler outside.

I get the weather conditions from here. Just plug in your zip code to get your local data
http://www.weatherunderground.com/cg...st?query=36117
Go here to get your track elevation. If your track elevation is not listed here call your track and they should know what it is. If not you will have to use a printed or software based Topo map to get the elevation.

Here is the DA calculator. Just fill in the needed data to get your DA

IMO, that's a WAY too loose converter for your application, I bet it flashes 4800+. You would need big gears or a 9K redline to use all that.

It flashes to about 4000-4200 but going down the track or road it just doesnt feel like it was pulling up top like my Yank did maybe I need to get a Yank 4000 like my old 01 SS had..... but I still cant beat this ST3500 I have in it right now seems to be a good all around performer.
