Default Too Many Heads To Choose

I'm getting close to dropping the hammer on my H/C build-up, but keep waiting to hear about the new options. I was going with the AFR 205s from LG, and their G5X2 cam, FAST90/LS2TB, but i'm kind of worried about the 59cc chambers. Will these clear the pistons with this cam on 112*, and will they be OK with 92 octane? I don't want to have to add an octane booster, and want to be able to drive anywhere in the NW safely. To add to my confusion, the ETP, and the Trickflows look superior to the AFRs in many ways, and now Patriot is releasing their own "Predator" castings, about which there is hardly any hard news, besides pricing. Should I hang tough for 3-6 months, and wait for the marketplace to prove or disprove these new designs, or go for it now? BTW, my application is an '02 ZO6 that's stock except for LG headers, no cats. Not a daily driver, but take it to work on nice days. Thanks for any advice.

You will be fine, but u definetly need to flycut the pistons. my heads choices would be Trickflow or the TEA 5.3s.

no problems with 92 octane.

You have to decide if you want to run the bigger CR. AFR 205's on the 92-93 would be ok. I wouldnt go lower though.

Try looking up Advanced Inductions heads or even CNC heads, they Will help you with what ever you want to do and they work great for the money!

FWIW, a local guy picked up 30 rwhp by swapping to a set of Dart 205 heads on his Z06 car. He was running a FM13 cam.

Money is a factor, but quality and results are ultimately my priorities. I'd like to get it right the first time. Maybe LG will mill the heads to 62cc instead of 59?

I believe the heads are milled to 59cc to optimize the DCR for the cam so you will get the best results. Remember, DCR is more important to detonation than SCR.
