Default Whats all needed for header install?

I'm ordering the Pacesetters and the TSP ORY from TSP. Is there anything else I need to order like gaskets or whatever?

plugs if you wish to change them, as most of them should be removed to reduce the risk of breakage. do you want poly motor mounts? if so, when you remove the manifolds & cats would be the time...

I use PERCY'S gaskets and ARP hardware for headers.

OK, just ordered the pacesetters and the TSP ORY. I guess I'll re-use the bolts and get a new GM gasket from the dealer.

You should be able to re-use the gaskets.....to be on the safe side, get some extentions.

Instead of 02 extensions I would get the rear 02's for a 2002 vette. They run a little hotter and are long enough to reach the end of the long tube, no need for extensions. You can get them from Kragen auto parts. Bosh part #13111

This has been debated before, but don't reuse the gaskets. After spending hundreds of dollars on parts, it's not worth risking ruining something just to save a few bucks now. I'd buy the install kit from SLP. It includes everything you need to install headers on your car. It includes stuff like the heat shielding you'll need for the pcm wiring harness, the GM gaskets, and the 02 extensions.

SLP is currently offering free shipping on all items through the 31st, so you can save yourself money there (instead of on the gaskets).

Guys, Pacesetter headers come brand new with new paper gaskets, and new header bolts.

Least, mine sure did, and my buddies also.

I skinny person for the bolts in the back on the passenger side.... I would not recomend using paper gaskets, you will be changing them out shortly!!!

Are you elimating the EGR and AIR! If so go to your local parts store and pick-up a 1 5/8" freeze plug if you have a 98-00 LS1.

You will be fine re-using the bolts and gaskets.

I didn't know I needed extensions. How much do these cost? Also, I'm keeping EGR and AIR, I don't want to rip my car apart.

It is really easy to eliminate that stuff....the car runs better without it, but I also live in fla where we can run without those. who did you buy these headers from....

I sell the extentions for $19.99 each for a 24' extention

You only really need O2 extentions. You can reuse the GM header gaskets & the bolts if you put washers behind them. I would get some new plugs & wires since they need to come out anyway. New header bolts is a good idea. Stage 8 are good ($40). The ARP head studs ($90) are kind of a pain to use. Only put the back ones in until you get the headers into place if you do the ARP's. Use only GM gaskets. If the headers come with gaskets do not use them.

Well I ordered the non race 98-99 headers from TSP with their ORY. There are no emissions currently in Idaho so I should be good to take that stuff out, but I'm not sure if I want to.

I recomend those because IMO you should replace the 02's while your at it. I believe they are around $60
