Default Need new short block advice

I recently found a crap load of metal shavings and chunks in my oil pan. I don't feel like trying to figure out the problem right now so I'm planning on ordering a new, forged short block. I have about $3600 and I'm not sure which direction to go to make the most out of my money. I'm hoping you guys (and gals) can give me some insight before I start calling the sponsors tomorrow.

The car right now has stock heads which were milled an unknown amount, full bolt-ons (minus EWP), G5X3, PP gold springs, Thunder pushrods, LS2 timing chain, 'King James' ported and shimmed (.060) oil pump, Midwest 4400 2.5 STR stall, mildly built trans, and 3.73 gears.

Call LME and be done with it.. Let us know what you want out of the motor.. You just want a replacement, you want big cubes, gonna be running N20 or any turbo/super charger?

most of the sponsors shortblocks are around $2800 or so,then you will need new gaskets and head bolts or studs.now would be the perfect time if you could save alittle more to get a set of the budget 243s.

The car will more then likely get sprayed within the next year. For right now it is staying NA though.

I thought about trying to with a forged LS2 but I don't think that is going to fit into the budget.

If your budget 3600 tops a forged LS2 will more than lickely be outta your price range. If you are gonna use your current heads you could get a really nice forged 347 to handle a big ole hit of nitrous. My setup should be pretty safe up to a 150 wet..
