1500?! You must have been thinking about adjusting valves in a volkswagen beetle!

Assuming my springs can handle my cam this whole year, I plan on buying a new set of springs every year or so...though who knows if I'll have the car long enough to change them more than once or twice. I'm running Patriot Gold dual springs on my .641/.646 lift cam with LSK lobes.

Patriot golds have higher open and seat pressures than the 918s, making the material more brittle and wears out faster. Not to mention the much higher lift .646" lift and and valve speed due to the high ramp rates of the LSK lobes (very aggressive).

Its not a terrible job, and I think the springs themselves are only like $150-160 tops since I already have everything else (retainers, seats, locks, etc.)

If I'm not mistaken, a dual spring set-up might hold up longer.

I'd check your springs once a year, but I'd imagine they should last at LEAST 2-3 years (assuming 12-15k/year)

I just ordered an 228 232 588 592 110+1 with XER lobes but got the PRC dual springs. I've heard they should last 25 to 30,000 miles anyway.

I would go 20K miles, and then check spring pressures every 5K after that.

I replaced mine at 1500 and the second set broke at 900. Track use only. Now going with comp 921 instead of Manley single. Rev limiter is set at 6700. Car is usually in the upper power band at the track and a gear lower in the turns than all ther cars.
