Default Tips for valve cover and intake port gaskets..

It seems like every time we take the valve covers or intake off we end up fighting with the gaskets to keep them seated. Anyone have any tips for keeping the gaskets in place? They stretch and just don't want to go back into place, we usually end up having to buy new gaskets.

how about a small film of silicone? that should keep them stuck in place and not effect the sealling plus if you pull the cover off again you can just rub the film right off.

When they stretch, I cut out a small portion at the top of the valve cover and put a dab of RTV where the two ends meet. It's worked for a few years now.

On a unrelated subject, any results yet??

We found out that the pushrods were bending from the spring pressure, new pushrods are in and we will fire it tomorrow.

Never thought about this...I just take and squeeze them back on, working the excess material around until they fully seat.

We use the 3m weather strip glue (the yellow stuff). Dries in 10 minutes and keeps them in place. Just make sure you get all the oil out of the channel.
