Re: new tpis throttle body????
We just recently started listing this on the site. It's a pretty sweet looking piece but not a cheap mod. This is an oval throttlebody that flows 1200 CFM. They have seen up to 22 hp with this and a modifed LS6 intake on a stock motor and close to 30hp on a modified motor. If you use it with the stock intake you need the billet aluminum round to oval adapter. You'll be looking at about $715. if your using this on a stock intake and $1150. with the Z06 intake.

I haven't seen one in person yet but I believe they modifed it to accept the oval opening of the throttlebody. I have to get one in to check it out.

Re: new tpis throttle body????
Tom, when you get one in, will you be testing it out and showing dyno results compared to stock? If the 22hp gains are real, then it is worth the money.

Re: new tpis throttle body????
From TPIS Website
58mm Throttle Body (1100) CFM: We also offer a throttle body for those who have larger tuned port motors and especially Mini-Ram equipped motors. The 58mm throttle body features a built in air foil and flows just over 1100 CFM. The 58mm is a custom billet aluminum piece, and there is no exchange. This Throttle Body is good for up to 600 HP normally aspirated.
Mono Blade Throttle Body (1300cfm) You'll have to convince us to sell you this one. Recommended for motors over 420 CID.
The LS1 throttle body is a ported stock throttle body. We reshape the entry, which helps it flow better, 8-10 RWHP better, on a stock C5. All LS1 throttle bodies are sold on an exchange basis.
Also they sell for about $220
Maybe Tom is talking about something different?

Someone set me straight here!

Re: new tpis throttle body????
.....Just got off the phone with TPIS. FIRST of all, the add is incorrect- they deny that the TB/modified intake will show gains of 22hp on a stock engine as stated in the advertisement.
Furthermore, the advertisement was not supposed to go out until later they said. The 1200CFM Throttle bodies wont be ready until August!!
Knew that didnt sound right. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Re: new tpis throttle body????
Yep, those first 2 were for LT1's. Stock on LT1's is a dual 48mm piece. I upgraded to the BBK twin 52mm and that has been fine for my application. I think, and have heard, that that the twin 58 mm is unnecessary unless you have a stroker or really radical motor that can use all of that CFM.
Who is selling the BBK TB for LS1 motors?

I guess the key words are "up to 22hp". I'll have to give them a call to see what they usually see for a gain with this package.

Re: new tpis throttle body????
I called tpis on this throttle body also. They told
me it would be about $1200 for the throttle body
and the intake mods on my ls6 intake. They cut the front of the manifold off and plastic weld an adapter on.They also said the 22hp was flywheel hp.
