Default Need help with cam asap!

My TRAK cam from Thunder came in yesterday so I decided to go ahead and do the swap thinking it wouldn't be all the bad the second time around and now I'm having an issue. I pulled the old cam out just fine (LPE GT2-3) and once I try to start the TRAK in it only gets to the second circle (1/4 in from the back) and from there it won't go any further. Initially we had thought maybe a lifter fell but we put the GT2-3 back in just fine. Any ideas I dunno where to start here?

How are you holding the lifters up right now? With a metal rod, I had no trouble.

Could it be that one of the cam bearing journals is slightly oversized?? If you have a mic or a pair of calipers, measure them and see.

The lifters are being held up by the rod and pen magents. As for measuring the cam bearings the Lingenfelter cam is slightly bigger (.01mm) than the TRAK cam. The cam seems to go in just fine but once the second circle gets to the cam hole it goes in just slightly and then feels like its hitting a wall and won't go in any further its weird. Could the cam somehow be out of round?

So the first cam bearing journal goes through without a problem, but the second one hangs up, correct?? If this is the case, check to see if the journal is tapered front to rear.

Yes the second Journal is tapered but I think I have found the problem.
If you look closely you can see that the lobe is bigger than the cam bearing journal. This would cause it to not fit correct? So should I ship it back then? I'll get a good picture of it once the batteries are done charging.

As you can see the first lobe went in due to being able to wiggle the cam but after that its not going to work I'll be calling Thunder asap to find out whats up.

Cam looks like it would have sucked if you managed to install it. that was a valve bender for sure right there.

That is so cool though, the lift is so huge that it can't inside the f*&^ing block. I would have never thought I'd say that. Sorry for your misfortune though, hopefully you get it in on the next one.

Have Thunder check it before shipping it. I'm sure they will.
