Angry Just Finished Slp Header Install!!!

Ok i just finished an SLP long tube header install it sucked ive never ran into so many problems in my life!!! first i took all hte plugs out and then unbolted the manifold from the true duals and then a bolt broke then like 4 hours later lol we started putting the headers in well ofcourse i had my brother pushing on the tranny while me and my friend were pulling on the header lol (passenger side=hell) then the header is sitting on o2 sensor wires so we have to take the header back out =( then i go and geat some heat wrap and we put it all over the wires ok so were good well no we put the header back up and then we put the wrong gasket on and the spark plugs wouldn't go in so we pulled the header back off after having it tightned again and put the plugs in and finally after 2 days of working in the heat we finally got it done but i didnt have any collectors to hook back up the exaust so i had to drive it home with open headers lol but this was out 1st set of headers any of us has installed LOUD we spent bout 11 hours overall on it

September around here isn' t too much better than June or July. I' ve heard those SLPs can be a pain. That sucks you had to pull them back out again though. I' ve been there and done that, although, it wasn' t as big a pain as what you had.

ya guys it sucked but overall you need 3 people to put the slp's in just FYI 1 to push tranny 1 to push on headers and 1 to pull on headers.

my QTP headers weren't a problem at all. the disassembly was the bitch. gettin the car high enough was the biggest problem.

SLP should be put out of business after building my headers. haha. No really, these were so hard to put on, I the thought crossed my mind that they were not for the right car. Me and a buddy spent 8 hours on the install with top notch tools, a lift, and a lot of patience. I finally said F*** it and put a little flat spot on one of the passenger side header primarys. There were tons of bad words spoken during my near mental breakdown.

I have Hooker LT on my SS. It was a PITA, but anything under the car without a lift is a PITA.

i used hand tools and a jack and 4 jackstands so i didnt have a freaking air compressor like most people. so it was a pain in the a** to tighten anything especially the back header bolts!!!!!

We installed my SLP's in about 6 hours. Luckily, we had the car on a lift and had the transmission sitting on the ground next to the lift.

Its amazing how much time you can shave off the install with the tranny out of the way.

It was still a pain in the *** and of course, I still dont have any ground clearance.

Why does anybody buy SLP headers in the first place? Search and you'll see nobody likes them. Many better choices.

I like mine, they just take away from ground clearance. Performance wise I'm happy with them and the car sounds great, and I got a hell of deal on them.

I wouldn't buy them new, but for what I paid for them, I love them.

im with this guy and therefor the exact same reason i purchased them, besides do i care what everybody else is running no i really dont,

besides they look just as sexy under the hood as any other header if not better

but from the ground up well thats a diff. story but my gc is ok and i still have room to lower my car
