Default Little Button Under Glove Box

Just a little question, under my glove box is like a little button on the underside, ya know where your feet sit, above that,i seen it last night and thiught wtf is that??
also ..tire pressure... the tires are rated at 51psi yokohama 245 z 50s, the door panel says to go like 38 os something, i figured the 51 was too much so went w/40, should i bump the pressure up to the ntire manufactuers 51??, i am used to the regular 32 or so ..less for traction demands, thanks for the info

No do not run 51 psi or 40 psi...ideal is 32psi. With too much pressure the car can ride rougher and also it will wear the midsection of the tires more. 32psi cold is what works best.

Not sure about the button but that pressure is WAY to high. That pressure on the tire is the max cold tire pressure. That's not what it should be run at. Your door sticker should be around 32 or 34. I usually run mine around 32. Door sticker on my car with the 17's says 30psi so I dropped them down after I put in my new tires to see how they work.

Maybe the button is what turns the light inside the glove box on and off. I'm not too sure about this, but that might be it.

Sounds an awful lot like an alarm bypass.

The shock sensor is in the hatch next to the spare, but there is a relay that runs behind the passenger side airbag. Also, is this a stock alarm system?

Fords have automatic fuel cutoff during an accident, and they have little buttons right there to re-activate the fuel pump. Not saying thats what it is, but its possible.

Always go with what the recommended pressure on the tire says, not what the auto manufacturer says. Pontiac, Chevy, Ford, ect... Those guys don't make tires. What with gas prices are these days, the closer to the max pressure you are, the less rolling resistance the the engine has to overcome and that equals better gas mileage. Just my 2 cents.
