Installing a Loudmouth after a stock Howdy! I have an 02 Z28 M6 and it is basically stock, and I am wanting to not cut at all if its at all possible when i change to the loudmouth catback. Is this possible? Does someone have step by step instructions on a catback install without welding and just doin bolts or something similar? If not, how do you install the catback? Thanks! -Karl

my loudmouth came with my car when i bought it, but i dont think it was cut anywhere it has no marks. i did have to weld it over the axle due to being blown off at wot though... i went the easy welding route and just welded the pipes together though, if you dont want to weld at the joint, but dont mind welding it. i think a hook on each peice, one on either side, on both peices (4) with exhaust springs would work well. you may not even have a problem with it blowing off..so untill the problem presents itself i wouldnt bother with it. if its new it should be fairly easy to install if you get you car high enough.

def have to cut the old system, like he said its not worth anything anyway. i had to cut mine right over the axle also to get it out, not hard just use a sawzaw. the loudmouth should come with instructions, if your buying it off of someone, SLP will send you directions for a small price.

you can easily remove the stock catback in one piece in your drive way i have done it several times.
first you will want to jack the rear passanger side up, remove the rim and tire,remove the panhard bar, and the upper panhard bar, unbolt the swaybar endlink. unbolt the lower part of the shock. let it dangle, the rear end should drop down. and be near close to the ground. unhook the left side of the catback from the rubber hanger and then the right side hanger should unbolt. remove the connection at the i pipe and y-pipe. then pull the whole catback to the back it should drop down then twist it out from underneath the car it will come out if slid to the right and lifted the right way.

Good point 88, you would not have to completely remove the rear axle, only disassemble one side enough to slide it out. It's really not that hard to do, I swapped my rear end for a whole new-to-me unit in one day with ease not long ago.
