Default truck throttlebody on a ls1??????

is there any gain to be had from this swap and will it work?????? it sure looks bigger.

I guess it depends on the truck. The core I ported
was off a truck and the casting numbers were
identical; differences were the shaft cam (smaller)
and the coolant and PCV bungs. I swapped over
the PCV snout but just cut off the whole coolant
boss, fittings and all. If it's a cable throttle truck
I believe you will find the same.

My 5.3 Silverado has the same TB. You can switch if the manifold mates to the TB. Be careful to not have your TB wire stretched too far, resulting in an open butterfly valve.

There are several TBs that will work. I have a book that lists all of the ones that will work from Vortec power trucks/suv's, unfortunately I'm not home right now. PM me if you would like me to look up the information, i'd be glad to.
