Default Speed Inc fuel rail problem

I bought a set of used Speed Inc fuel rails and read on their site that the fitting was supposed to be 3/8" NPT. So I ordered the fitting from Summit and it was too small. I could slide the fitting in and the threads wouldn't touch. So I figured it had to be 1/2" NPT and when I tried it, it was too big. I seems like it needs to be 7/16" NPT but there is no such size. Does anyone know what size it actually is??? I guess the older fitting's were a different size at some point in time...

I just ordered FAST fuel Rails, and the AN fittings do not screw right into the rails. There is a plastic Male/Male screw fitting that goes into the rails, then to the AN fittings. That is probably what you are missing.

That is a good looking product. If you have the proper fitting is the rest of the install pretty simple?

Do factory injectors fit that fuel rail?

Make sure youre not using AN fittings instead of NPT. My Speed Inc rails are 3/8 NPT.

A friend of mine had an -8an fitting and it screwed right in. There was no way the 3/8" NPT was right, I tried it and the threads didn't even touch. Way too small....

Are you sure the rails are NPT? Every rail I have seen has straight threads in each end - hence the reason you use the fittings with the O-rings as pictured in the post showing the FAST rails...

Aeromotive just came out with a direct bolt on rail kit for the 98-02 LS1 f-body. Comes with rails, fitting and braided lines. It even comes with an adapter to plug into the stock feed line and changes it to two -8AN feeds. A buddy of mine just got the prototype system installed. Looks great!

Just call summit and tell them you need a special order. Aeromotive just released part # 14139 which is the 98-02 F-body rail kit. It came with everything to replace the factory rails. No need to guess what fittings to get and how much line, staight forward and simple.
