98 Knock Sensor's
Ok, I want to change out my knock sensors when I do my LS6 intake swap but I couldn't find a 100% sure yes this will work answer when I did a search.
I found these part numbers
Knock Sensors - 10456222
Sensor Harness - 12597415
Can anyone verify these are the correct part #'s to convert my knock sensors to the new style 99+?
Thanks!

I just changed my intake to the LS6 on my 98. I have no issues that I know of. Is there something that I would notice without having it hooked to a scanner? This sounds familiar though, didn't they have the LT4 to replace the LT1. Think they would have got it right in the next gen motor.

No you wouldn't notice anything but a lack of power (which you probably would never notice because its always missing) without it being hooked to a scanner. I believe they always show knock retard even when there is not real source of knock. There was a GM Service bulletin about this issue. I just wish I could find more people that knew something about it.

The 98 sensors have a habit of failing.....and when they fail, they can read a constant 4 degrees of knock retard. This does not mean that 98 LS1s are constantly running with 4 degrees of retard. The timing is only pulled if the sensor is bad and in this case, the sensor failure usually does not set an SES.

I had the false knock on my '98 and bought two new sensors for it. I did buy the '98 style sensors though. It fixed my problem. I recently changed to a LS2 402 and needed the newer knock sensors. I'll see if I can find the numbers. I can sell you my two one-year old '98 sensors for $25 shipped if you want them.
