vigilante multi disc converter on a camaro Can I put a vigilante 5 plates multi disc converter on a 98-02 Camaro with 4L60E? Or is it only possible to put the 3 plates multi disc Converter on a Camaro and if so, why?

For the LS1 f-body you can only get the 3 disc.
The LS1 Vette actually uses an LT1 converter, that is why they can run a 5 disc.
Let me tell you something that nobody told me when I was looking for advice on a converter.
Don't buy a multi-disc unless you are making big power.
Basically, a large displacement motor with a lot of initial hit when you hit the throttle. Don't even think about putting one in a 346, I don't care how hot the motor is, if it is NA. You will never be able to flash the converter.
Been there, done that, didn't work for me. Had the Multi restalled several times.
Ended up getting a Vig single disc. Worked great.
Vig is a great company and really stands behind there products.

i don't think that information is correct. i burnt up a bunch of tci lock up clutches (3 different times i sent it back to be exact) before they hooked me up with a 3 disk converter. i DON'T lock it up at wot either, just the clutches were giving way. the 3 disk performed EXACTLY like the single disk converter and the clutches lasted much longer.
READ- flashed the same, performed the same, WAS the same converter besides the billet front and 3 lockup disks.

You had a TCI and you had problems?
EVERY Vig Multi disc I have seen has performed the same way.
It has only worked as I described above.
They work great, but only in the correct application.
FYI, you should be able to lock up a multi disc at WOT, that is what it is for.
