M6 to 700R4
I am about to trade a M6 for a 700R4 and i was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get a cross member for one of those conversions, and if so please let me know.

Damn the guy who's getting the M6 is getting one hell of a deal.
You need an A4 crossmember for your car, the 4L60E and 700R4 have the same external dimensions. The crossmember will have AUTO stamped on it.

the 700R4 has all hardend parts, corvette servo, wider bands, extra frictions and steels plates, and the valve body has has somework done to it to make it shift pretty nice. i rode is his car and it seems well built he had it behind a 406 and spaying 200 at it

700R4s just arent up to hp, no matter what you do to them. dont trade.
i belive that it is the 200R4 that is a better trans? is that correct? the OD transmission all the buick guys use in their GNs..

I've had a built 700r4 like that for a long time behind about 390-410 for a couple years. If you keep it cool it can handle that. Get a manule valve body and a big stall and all of a sudden you have a death car that can street with a 4400 stall.
Auto crossmember will work, might need to be massaged a little at the hole, depends how everything lines up.
Don't forget to get a speedo with it.

Yup, the 200r4 (that came in the GN's) will stand up to a ton more abuse. You're sure getting the short end of the stick trading a t56 for a 700r4....you're trading in a "parts breaker" for what the French call a certain "I don't know what".
