Default Fuel pump noisy with full tank

Yesterday an odd thing happened to me. I had been driving all day when all of a sudden my fuel pump started making a really noisy whirring noise.

This is with the tank 3/4 full. Since I got it I've never let it get below 1/4 tank.

Car ran the same no issues but a noticeably (and embarrassing) humming noise. So i bought a new gas cap and it didn't fix quiet down one bit. One thing I did notice is that if driving slowly and jerk the steering wheel from side to side the noise would go away for a few seconds (making the gas slosh around in the tank) but it starts up again once i start driving straight. I go fill up and the noise goes away.

I stop the car and this morning no noise but the gas tank is full.

Should I start to worry? Car is a 98 with 106,000 miles. I bought it with 103K

Sometimes mine would make strange noises at different fuel levels. Stopped doing so after I changed out my fuel filter. Mine has around 122k on it.

Now I notice it only happens the day after I go to the track. The day I made this thread was the day after I made about 4 passes the previous night and it did it again saturday afternoon after taking it to the track on friday night and making 3 passes.

If I go easy on her throughout the week I can't make it come back

Anyone heard of this?

When I first bought my T/A the fuel pump was always very loud. I started having problems with it when the weather got warmer. On warmer days and / or after a long drive, it would stall over 2K rpm. Yours is probably close to the end. Just round up some jacks, jack stands, and air tools and get ready.

mine was whining too. I replaced the fuel filter and that helped.
