Once this occurs, it's only a matter of time before the internal reflective material starts flaking and your tailights will get dimmer and dimmer. I tried everything known to mankind to seal the tailights, but, nothing worked. Finally, I got a new set of tailights for cheap and have been happy ever since.

Unfortunatly there really is no fix. I had a few different cars that had the same problem. No matter how i tried to seal it up with silicone or grease, ect, it would eventually fill back up. I finally had to replace the assemblies to solve it. Here's a tip that works for me. I have a sloping driveway, slopes down, I used to park my cars head in thus the rear was up in the air compared to the front, now I do the opposite, rear down, and have never had a problem again. Also keeps water out of the liftgate valleys.

I agree ... not too sure about whether there is any effect of mositure in your tailights by parking it one way or the other. However, it makes sense you would lessen the chances. It certainly wouldn't hurt.

if you do that, you'll get condensation/fog instead of just water becuase of temperature changes from monrning dampness to afternoon heat.

am I wrong? chime in if I am....logically I think that's how it works right?

Correct, drilling a hole won't fix it. You will still get water in which will rust the mirror housings, and the bulb contacts, and all of the water will not come out the hole. The correct remedy is to have an airtight housing to keep the water out. If you can't get a new one pick up a good used one.

I drilled several 1/16 holes in mine exactly at the bottom and it's worked fine so far. You have to look closely to notice the holes. The dimples are MUCH more noticeable...

So how much are you guys paying for your 2nd hand or brand new tail lights? I paid $100 for mine from the local junkyard and even then I thought that was too much. I thought these things would be in the neighborhood of like $65 each.....WRONG! was I...
