Pushrod Q - Will I be alright?
I purchased a camshaft kit from TSP with a 220/220 114lsa .581" cam and 7.4" hardened pushrods. I've also purchased a set of brand new LS6 heads, the one's they sold before the PRC line I guess.
Will I be O.K with this pushrod length, cam and head combination? I don't think I'll have a problem due to the small size of the cam...but figured I'd ask anyway. Don't want to F up my motor any more. Thanks!
Rick M.

Hey Rick, get a hold of a PR length checker and measure. They cost $20, or maybe borrow one from someone local. I'd hate to say you're OK with 7.40" and then have something bad happen.
I might be up at NED on Oct 13th and I could bring a PR checker and let you borrow it.

ahhh. Gotcha.
So. could I pick up a length checker locally? If not I'll probably just order one through a vendor and have it overnighted. Also, for the price of some new pushrods, wouldn't I be better off getting those versus buying $160 gaskets? I understand they can increase compression. But is it really worth it for my application? I do have a fairly mild set up. Thanks again guys! you all rock.

I have installed Comp Cams 224/230, 0.581/.592, 114LSA using stock heads, stock gasket and stock length Comp Cam's pushrods. Have not started the engine yet. Is there anything to worry about?

Don't panic guys, 7.400 p-rods will work, they just will make your motor sound like a sewing machine (which a lot of poeple think it is normal). Longuer p-rods will get closer to original lifter preload and quieten that LSX down a bit.
