Hello,
I am thinking about purchased a 1998 Acrtic White Formula (55k)with an Auto (2.73?). I was wondering how it would compare performance wise with my old 1997 WS6 (LT1) manual? I drove it with the dealer in the car so I really couldn't get on it. I was running 13.9 a 102mph I believe when I had the ws6 a couple of years ago.
Also, I was told by a friend that this car was rare because it was a fully loaded White 1998 Formula (ie leather seats, monsson system etc) Any truth to this?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a total of 270 white Formulas produced in 98. Pretty rare as it is likely a good portion of those are lost. I don't see data on the packages beyond color.
As far as performance, I can't be technical, but I drove a 96 Formula M4, totalled it in 2000 and got a 98 TA. There is a definate difference in the feel of the LS1. Also, there are so many things you can do to the LS1 to pick up a few horses here and there that you would definately love it!

A little quicker
A very similar story here. First off, definitely a 'rarer' type car. No doubt. You can drive many months without seeing a similarly equipped, same year model.
I had a '96 Formula A4 before my current LS1. I feel it is definitely quicker, not earth shattering, but there is a pleasant difference.

Well i was looking at getting a T/A for a long time and started by looking for an LT1 i drove a few and my friend ended up buyin a 6spd LT1 Z28 so i saved up some more and bought my LS1 and we raced stock for stock he launched at about 3k and i didn't launch at all and i won by about 2 cars and still had alot of pull left at 95 mph. so there is a big difference i'd say

Thanks guys, hope I posted the picture right. If not here is the link. I ended up getting it for 7500.00 (they gave me 1500.00 for my Jetta).
