Gbody guys?
how many other Gbody guys are in here? I've got an '84 cutlass I love to death but the na 3.8 is a tad lacking in the oomph department. I'm scheming a LQ9 and 4l60/4l80 after I'm done with the bodywork, and eventually I'm hoping I'll have the cash for a blower. Any thoughts? Who else has a LS motor in there Gbody, and what did you use for the swap?

Me . I used a 2001 Tahoe engine with a 4l60e automatic. The engine should fit in relatively easy. If you do a search you will find a bunch of us. Try searching cutlass camino or look for posts by 5.3Racer he swapped a LQ4 into his cutlass and it fit without cutting.

You will want to search John B's site. He put it a 6 speed himself and has some good info and pix on what is needed to make it work. On top of that, he's got the LS7 in it! Here's a link to his site. http://home.earthlink.net/~bzdel/

I used to be -- does that count?
I sold my '84 MCSS with a 406/5 speed to pay for my Vette, but it still turns my head when I see a nice one. I'm a big fan of your work, John, btw. You represent the breed well!

I also used an intake pump. Call Mike at Mike's Montes that’s where I got my sending unit from. I’m still using the original gas tank without the baffles, no problems here.
BTW
An LS1 in a G-body is the way to go. I’m sure most people here that have done the swap will agree...

i just finished my 6.0 in a 84 regal ,i used a 700r4 with victor jr intake,750 holley dp and asa cam,i love it.attention to all ,schoenfeld headers now sells headers for ls1 in metric chassis(g-body) for a good price.look on their web site,www.schoenfeldheaders.com ,under street stock headers with ls1.they dont just drop in,well driver side does, but will fit with a little tlc.pics coming soon.

Hey john can you PM me your site, i need to locate a set of pedals and whatnot for a t-56. and as far as the swap. here is my home for a future LS1, My father and i have been through hell with this car, and usually came out on top. but after he died, i figured its time to do something special with it, so LS1 and T-56 it is, going from straight line to G-machine
