TR224 installed, how much more HP w/roller rockers?
I'm about to put in my TR224 cam package from TSP with 918's. I was thinking about getting a set of Hartland Sharp 1.7 Roller Rockers(http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=154&catid=52) as well. Is it worth it to replace my stockers? Will they give me anymore power? Do they install the same way as the stockers, I mean set them in, and just torque them down to 22 ft-lbs???
Thanks for any advice!

rockers will only net you about 10-15 rwhp if that, not really worth it with the price that they cost in my honest opinion. but you do get that added luxury of the feeling of not having to worry about your stockers going out.

I think I'd be willing to spend the $359 or so on 10rwhp. Do these install anything like stock, or is there something special I need to do while I torque these down? They are apparently non-adjustable.

i haven't seen very good gains with non adjustable rockers but if you went with adjustables you would get a lot more. i wouldn't recommend rockers unless you go adjustable then you can squeeze out some more hp.

If they were shaft mount, would the extra weight be worth it?

I installed Yella Terra 1.7's when I did my TR224. I don't think there's much to be had in terms of power increase maybe a few. I did notice a decrease in the sewing machine sound over the stockers. The YT's and most aftermarket rockers add weight over the valve. This can cause valve float when using a spring and cam combo on the edge of what the spring is able to control. I run Patriot Gold Duals and now have close to 20K miles on them with no signs of valve float or problems.
I remember a few years ago a site sponsor performed a back to back dyno run with YT 1.7's and gained 4rwhp. Don't buy them for the power increase. Buy them to have a full roller valvetrain and to never worry about your stock rocker needle bearings puking out.

Valvetrain stability is just as important as picking up that last few rwhp. Especially as more and more people try to spin these motors to 47562 rpm just to make a few extra HP.

When I ordered my cam package from TSP I asked about getting better rockers...
They said it's really not worth it. Aside from reliability you guys are speaking of, it weighs down the valvetrain and according to whomever I spoke with makes the valvetrain more noisy?
His last selling point(or not selling in my case) was that they use the stock rockers on their 408 strokers without any issues.
my $.02
