Default **Why do I keep running rich tune after tune?**

I replaced the front O2's deleted the rear ones and has been tuned 3 times. I know the tunes are not bad but WTF!?!? what keeps triggering this? any ideas? somebody said it might be my fuel pressure regulator, could it be this?

thanks in advanced

first question would be how are you determining your running rich after your tune?

mechanical issues...possible intake leak or something of that nature. Generally not a tuning issue.

Would a vacuum leak in the top of the intake cause a rich condition at low RPM with some pretty violent hunting at idle until the car warms up? I have a buddy with this problem. He is fouling plugs like crazy. Been trying to figure it out with tuning but it's not helping. He has a wide band and it goes really rich as the RPM's drop and leans to 14.7 when they surge back up.

It sounds like you might have a injector that is sticking open or possibly a fuel press regulator problem allowing too much fuel pressure.

The problem with my buddies car is not fuel pressure as he has a gauge in the car. Sticky injector is possible but not likely in his situation due to it improving (not resolving) once it get up to operating temp. Also, I would think that a sticky injector would only be a problem in the corresponding cylinder and only show up on one bank as an error.

If you have an aftrmarket maf sensor it very well could cause this and even so if the sensor is bad try replacing that its only about $80 on one of the sponsors sites. Before you start ripping apart things try that first.

ok so im having this same problem with 60lb injectors, so i shut down the maf and was running in SD and it ran so fat that i had to open up the windows. if you show a higher value for the injector flow rate, shouldnt it lean the car out? my problem is not the maf, its something deeper!!

Are you running in open loop? If not, you may want to give it a try. I have a buddy with a big cam, he insisted on running in closed loop. After going thru tons of O2 sensors, he finally agreed to put it in open loop and he hasn't had a problem since. Stock O2's are junk. He would foul them out and his car would go into the 10:1 AFR range.
