Next LT1 Mod
Ok, here is the question. I am a 95 Camaro LT1 Z28. I already put some nice rims and tires on it... its got a custom hood and a very nice exhaust and tips. So what is the next performance mod I should make? Headers? I would like to just go straight to a turbo, but I really can't afford that right now. My eventual goal is to get over 500HP under the hood and turn it into a track car. It only has about 43000 miles on it, so I don't even have to replace the opti yet. I was also thinking about flat forged pistons... a friend suggested that. Any suggestions?

Need a good set of long tubes, " No shorties.... They're a waste of money". and a good mandrel bent cat-back to top it off.
Or.... You could just get a good set of true duals. Depends on how much noise you like.
I would definitly take care of the exhaust department before you go any further.

From where you are right now, going straight to a turbo would be a BAD idea. Get at least all the bolt ons first, think about suspension and the rearend, etc. before going FI

thanks for all the advice. I would like a lot of noise. I just have to make sure I am at least close to legal on them. Sticky thing is that I have to be legal for two states, because I am eventually taking the car back to IL. Hopefully though, by the time I get back to IL, the car will be paid off, and will only be a track car. that might be a pipe dream though.

Get long tube headers with a catted Y and a electric cutout. You should get by all the inspections while staying pretty legal. Most guys wont bother you if you have a catted Y
