Default Next LT1 Mod

Ok, here is the question. I am a 95 Camaro LT1 Z28. I already put some nice rims and tires on it... its got a custom hood and a very nice exhaust and tips. So what is the next performance mod I should make? Headers? I would like to just go straight to a turbo, but I really can't afford that right now. My eventual goal is to get over 500HP under the hood and turn it into a track car. It only has about 43000 miles on it, so I don't even have to replace the opti yet. I was also thinking about flat forged pistons... a friend suggested that. Any suggestions?

if by exhaust u mean u have aftermarket mufflers? more detail on what mods u have im sure people would chime in...500 hp will be tough without nitrous or forced induction...full bolt ons + nitrous should make for a nasty car, then u have to consider the rearend >.<

my bad, just mufflers and tips. I don't have headers or anything like that. Just the new rims/tires and exhaust.

Need a good set of long tubes, " No shorties.... They're a waste of money". and a good mandrel bent cat-back to top it off.

Or.... You could just get a good set of true duals. Depends on how much noise you like.

I would definitly take care of the exhaust department before you go any further.

From where you are right now, going straight to a turbo would be a BAD idea. Get at least all the bolt ons first, think about suspension and the rearend, etc. before going FI

If you live in California as your location states you can't legally have Long Tube headers, so make sure you have a plan to get pass smog if you do...

thanks for all the advice. I would like a lot of noise. I just have to make sure I am at least close to legal on them. Sticky thing is that I have to be legal for two states, because I am eventually taking the car back to IL. Hopefully though, by the time I get back to IL, the car will be paid off, and will only be a track car. that might be a pipe dream though.

Get long tube headers with a catted Y and a electric cutout. You should get by all the inspections while staying pretty legal. Most guys wont bother you if you have a catted Y
