Default Cam swap: What method for Keeping lifters up??

What method have you guys used for keeping the lifters up when doing a cam swap..my dads helping me do the swap..but hes old school and doesn't really trust using the "Russian roulette method" of turning the cam and hoping the lifters stay up..

I've used both the pen magnet and wooden dowel methods, and the wooden dowels were much easier to use and far less expensive than the pen magnets. I can't remember the correct size, but you should be able to find it with a quick search.

I used pen magnets, but I hear the dowels is the way to go.

I used two 5/16 dowel rods, i didn't have to shave the sides down like many people say they do. But the dowl rod method is no perfect, i actually had one of the lifters slide a bit passed the rod and prevented me from putting my MS3 in. Thankfully my dad went and bought me a pen magnet, and as i slid the cam back in a friend of mine pulled the lifter back up with the pen magnet. Heres a photo of what i was talking about, look down follow the lifters on the right side (drivers side) and at the back you'll see the lifter that slipped passed the dowel rod.

Just spin the cam over a few times till the lifters are nested, pull the old cam out, slide the new one in. As long as you do it in a timely manner and there aren't any earthquakes, you'll be fine.
