Default ported fast 78 vs ls6 intake RESULTS

Here is a quick update... I was able to get one gtech run in with the fast 78 intake and came up with a 12.75 @ 119.9. This is 1+ mph better than the same setup with my old ls6 manifold...also getting traction seems to be a slightly tougher as well. This seems to fit with other results I had seen posted here about the fast 78 gaining approx 10 hp over the ls6.
I slightly ported the fast intake to remove the casting marks before installation.

Below is a copy of my old post that talked about this.

"I gteched my car this weekend (without nitrous) to get an idea of what I might run at the track and as a (future) comparison between the ls6 and a ported fast 78 intake. These are my results with the ls6 intake on street tires with no nitrous:

12.85 @ 118.6 (poor launch) one direction
12.65 @ 118.9 (slightly better launch) back other direction

I'm thinking that realistically the trap speeds are off a good bit and that I'm probably in the 112-113 mph range with a 1.9-2.0 sixty foot on the better run. I think that by putting on my m/t drag radials can get me about a .2 second better 60 foot and knock 4-5 tenths off to get me in the low 12s at the track (the local track here doesn't open until march).

I am going to swap on my self ported fast 78 intake and make a few more runs with the same tires to see what type of gains et/mph I get...I'll post the results here for all those who care.

I'm no stranger to the dragstrip (with other vehicles) so don't flame me thinking I'm just some gtech poser."

Congrats on the setup! Usually Gtech is not accurate in trap speed but it is consitant.

The G-tech Pro is more accurate then the original, the mph is like 2-3 off still but deadly close to ET est. My friend took his car to the track and gtec it at the same time. I was VERY suprised.

Try reading the first post again...the first paragraph is the 1 run with the new et/mph (fast 78) and about 2-3 paragraphs down are the 2 ls6 runs to compare it to.

I ran my old tt supra at the track with gtech about 6 or 7 years ago and it was less than a tenth off (I can't remember for sure but I think it was .03 or .07 off in et and about 4 mph high in trap speed). Its amazing how that little thing can be as accurate as it is...I'm just using it for for just a mod to mod comparison though.
