Default Tranny and rear diff gear ratio for TT Vette??

If you had a 6 speed setup like the one I have in my signature what tranny/gear ratio would you run to optimize zero to 200mph sprints?

FRC Tom(his name on Z06vette) uses a 2.73 rear gear with a 402 & STS with upgraded turbos and alot of boost. You'd only shift 2 or 3 times before 200 lol. He's also used 3.15s which he said made a difference. A local here in Houston is putting 3.15s on his 408 STS TT

FRCs come with an M6 tranny which is a .74 5th gear. With a 3.42 final drive you would be going 206 mph at 6750 RPM (assuming a 26" tall tire).

If you had an M12 (which has a .84 5th gear), you would want a 3.15 final drive which would put 204 mph at 7k RPM in 5th (assuming a 26" tall tire).

So are you suggesting I leave my current setup alone since I have the M6 transmission with my current setup?

How much power/torque do you have, and where is it created. Do you anticipate 200 in 5th or 6th gear ?

Punch a few ratios into this, and see where 200mph will fall to tie in with your max power/torque.

Yes, unless you wanted to start going into the tranny and changing gear ratios and even then, I'm not sure you would notice a substantial benefit.

then check your current speeds, versus rpm's and play with them in the calculator to see what may work best.

If you could be pulling 200+ just around max power/torque, or perhaps a little over 200mph, then you should be fine.

Why do I need to worry about 200mph? I get to 200mph pretty quick.
