Default 16 volt setups...

Does a person need to run a 16 volt setup for 160lb injectors to run better or can you run te 160's on regular 12 volt charging system?

To my knowledge 160's are fine with a 12v system and they will just be able to open faster with a higher voltage potentially extending their range a bit. This would be ecu dependant as its possible that some ecu's may limit the supply voltage to the injector, but unlikely as most are just wired for straight system voltage and their ground's switched. There are many 160's running on 12v systems in the field. You could call Precision Turbo and ask for an voltage/response scale for the injectors in question.

I guess the next questions would be how much power will a 96 lb'er supply fuel for? Thats what ive got and have heard 2 things. Yes they will make 1200rwhp no they will not.

I would say 96# are good for 1250 fwhp.

Well i think i read it righton the stangs board that a guy was making 1250 at the wheels with his 96'ers...but ill just cut the BS and go straight for the 160's. I may end up at 16 volts anyway with as much stuff as ill be running.

Also consider that 96# is at 40 psi I believe. If you run 60 psi then they are about 118#/hr.

(NewFuelPress/RatedFuelPress)SQRT) x FlowRating@RatedPress = NewFlowRate

I say 40 psi because they are in the FordRacing catalog and their injectors run @ 39.5 psi.

I know back when Job was racing, he was running the 96'ers, but had them maxed out. He did run high 7's with them though.

well im keeping them on that note...Even if the injector is maxed out it willbe Wide *** open. Injectors are made to be failsafe so they fail in the open mode unless they are clogged.
