Default 400rwhp?

I really want to make 400RWHP. 399 would just be disappointing. Here is what I have:

SLP CAI, lid, smooth bellows,
Ported stock throttle body,
LS6 intake,
42# injectors,
TR224/224 112LSA (918's, hardened pushrods)
ASP pulleys,
American Racing Long Tubes, catted Y,
SLP LMII cat-back,
NGK TR-55 iridiums, MSD wires,
Will be dyno tuned.

I have quite a few other mods also, but that is it for power. My car is a 2000 Z M6 and for the time being, I will be running the stock 3.42 gears. I will likely be going to 4.10's not too far down the road. Do you think I will make the magic 400RWHP? Also, what should I expect in the 1/4? Thanks guys.

Happy with that 224/224 kinda small. If you don't make it picking up some 243 castings will put you over the mark.

I think you're gonna fall a little short. Maybe if you add an underdrive pulley and go fast 90/90 (instead of ls6 and ported TB) you might get there.

But why are you going with a catted Y and a small cam? I'm thinking it's because of emission testing. But as long as they don't hook it up to a sniffer then you can go bigger on the cam and lose the cats.

Or look at a TSP PRC head/cam combo. You can get a 224/224 with that package and be over 400.

You are going to make in the range of 378-385 rwhp with that cam. But I could be wrong every car reacts differently to modifications. If you want to hit 400+ either change the cam out to a bigger one, or get a set of ported heads.

Also on a side note why are you running such big injectors with a small cam only car? Are you planning on Forced Induction? Just curious, thats all..

he is probably running cats becuase of the loud mouth exhaust- to cut down on raspyness. it shouldn't be over 400rwhp but with a decent head it can be done. On stock motors the heads are a choke point when you put a cam in. Get heads before you get a 90/90 set up or you would be wasting your money, you would probably lose TQ and some power down low but pick it up on top so your peak numbers would be better but not always the numbers under the curve. A set of heads will pick up power all across the board.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do already have a set of ASP pulleys. I picked this cam because of the torque curve it produces. Makes good power all the way through the RPM range. I didn't want to go with anything much larger for a cam because this car is mainly a daily driver, it might see the track once or twice a year, just for fun. I went with the 42# injectors because they are plenty for this setup, and I wanted to leave room for a ~125 shot. Haven't decided if I am going to do that yet, but if I do, I don't want to have to buy injectors again. They shouldn't hurt anything, they will just run at a lower duty cycle. I agree about the heads. I am going to see how I like it after I get this all together and go from there. All of these parts are waiting for me at home, have to wait until I get back from Iraq to install the stuff.

I think you will fall short of 400. You will probably be at 380.

God bless you sir for serving this country

And good luck with your car. I hope you hit your goal of 400 rwhp and then some.

I have almost the exact same mods as you except my car is an 01. I don't have the pullies and my Y-pipe is Off-Road. My car is getting dyno'ed today! I will try to remember to let you know what it made.

Is this the TR 224 with XR lobes or XER? I'm saying 380-390.

first thing first, ud pulley doesnt give you any net hp. it lowers ET due to putting the car in powerband quicker.

400rwhp is possible with your setup with colder plugs and right tuner. fast 90/90 will help you the most in this case.

also, better heads and True duals will most def help.

Pardon my ignorance but how would colder plugs help?

I hit 409rwhp on my old setup which was everything below except on the FM14 cam, minus the heads, and minus the forged 347.
