Just buy a regualer c6 ****, and cut off the plastic "neck" don't go spending tons of money on one's that "will work" with the F-body shifter. All they do is cut the neck of. Simple as that.

Well it's about the same price from the dealer and it wont fit f-body's. You said you wanted a C-6 **** but your not willing do spend the money on one.

So if it has no threads, then how does it go on there. By reading the above post, he left the plastic on it. If I cut the plastic out, then what would keep it on there?

Did you click on the link in my post above? Take your shifter "stick" and put the bottom part in a vise.Next take the **** and get it lined up exactly straight on top of the stick (you'll only get one chance). Now push down on the **** (keeping it lined up!)and turn it like you would the stock **** clockwise. It will get very hard as the threads are cutting into the plastic.I did mine by hand and almost sprained my wrist,so use a strap wrench if possible.Just keep going until you get it where you want it.I'm not sure if mine bottomed out but it went on pretty far and was very tight.Just keep it straight and it will work .Fwiw I didn't cut anything off of mine

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

As far as cutting the plastic piece out, does anyone have any more info on this to make it fit better than forcing it on?
