Yank SS3600 or Vig 2800?
My car is a 2000 Trans AM. Mods are P&P TB, airbox/filter, Flowmaster catback(changing it out when I get back), will be getting Longtubes when I get back to the states & 3.73 gears(has 2.73's). Yank recommends the SS3600 & has the February special($725 shipped). Called Vig yesterday & they recommend the 2800 & with military discount that is $654 before shipping. My order to Fuddle didn't go through as the site wouldn't take my credit card. I saw that as an Omen. I am leaning towards the Yank as I may also get an LS6 intake, P&P the heads & get a bigger cam/custom tune in the fall. I know I could use the feature but appreciate any help. I need the T/A to be faster than my 2004 Mustang GT

well, the vig 2800 is in actuality a 3200 stall. you basically need to decide if you'd rather have a 3200 or 3600 stall. both companies are top-of-the-line so quality is not an issue. the vig 2800 will be better driving in traffic and a bit tighter, but the yank 3600 will perform a little better. you have to choose between more comfort or more speed. FWIW, if you don't have a good set of sticky tires, IMO, get the vig 2800 as the little extra performance will be almost useless because they'll both launch about the same on street tires as you'll never use their full potential. for roll racing, the yank 3600 will have better shift extensions, but the vig will probably be a little more efficient on the top end as it's smaller.

you will love the 3600. I have a 3500 stall in mine and love you. It'll take a week or so to get used to, but you won't even notice it in there after that. And you will have nothing on your face but a smile. Sticky tires aren't a must unless you are a hard core drag racer. I'm able to pull consistant 1.8 60'ers on my street radials. You just have to learn how to launch it. You can't stall it up and just slam the gas on the green or you'll spin like crazy. You have to play with stalling it up to a lower rpm and coming to wot smoothly so that it only slips a little and launches well. But trust me, you'll love it!
