3600 with something like a 2.0 STR. looser will mean the flash would take longer (minimal) but the shift extension would be higher( more pull) and the lower STR will make the converter more efficient on the top end (more HP to the ground).
why do you want to roll race anyway? M6's are more suited for that

thanks for the reply greg, well the only reason i mentioned roll race is just cuz thats where most of the racing would happen, u know crusing on the freeway, and u get rolled up on or vice versa. so thats why i asked. very rarely would u catch the opportunity to go from a dig. but i hear from everybody that a stall helps against those m6 guys!!

So, what would be a better stall for top end?
1)a 3000 Stall with an STR of 1.95
2)a 3200 stall with an STR of 2.1
From reading your information on your tech talk page, doesn't it state that a lower Stall Torque Ratio will help topend more so then a stall with a higher STR?
These are the two stalls Im debating between, but I want to keep as much as my topend poise as I can...

Top end and top end pull and not the same the total top end is the max eff. that the converter has 93 as to 97%
the pull to top end has to do with the stall speed and the shift extension that a high stall converter produces to allow for the extra pull and make power in the upper RPM ranges

When I look at those two choices I see the SS3200 having an advantage from a dig because the higher STR means harder launches. But on the other hand the Stealth 3000 might have a higher effiency because the lower STR's usually eat less HP. So that converter might help your car trap just a tad higher.
But again I see them as being real close from a dig or a roll. So if it were me choosing I would base the decision on whether I was going to spend a lot of time drag racing at a track. If the answer is yes then I want the 3200 with the higher STR. If the answer is no then I want the 3000 since high STR's on the street=no traction.

Almost any 3000+ stall makes a big help with the 1-2 upshift because it is such a huge drop between gears. However, the 2-3 upshift doesn't drop nearly as much. Gains from 3500 stall are there, but they are not nearly as dramatic as on the 1-2. To really kick a$$ going into 3rd gear takes a very efficent 4000+ stall. The shift extension is long enough to provide real gains on the 2-3 upshift.
The YPT 4000 adds to the gain by being very efficent and not chewing up as much power as most 4000 stalls. The price you pay is a loose feel to the converter due to the long shift extension.
YTP 4000 and 3.73s is very good highway race combo.
