that sucks man. i guess now you have to weld a piece on there or go with some Pacesetters. i remember reading a thread about some guy blowing a hole in one of his headers primaries also. i just don't remember what brand they were. so it does happen, but it is just not common.

WTF...did the metal just fail in some random spot or is there a weld bead or something where it blew out? That's ridiculous either way. I don't see how the exhaust can cause that (it's not like it's causing major pressure inside the primary...maybe it was the multiple heat cycles combined with the "mild" pressure from the exhaust at higher rpms).

Was it one of the primaries with the air or egr tube on it. Was it blocked off? If the tube was blocked off then it is common to happen.

it happened to me on my pacesetters but it was where the A.I.R. tube is welded to the primary. Just ordered some new ones without the emissions stuff and coated so i highly doubt it'll happen again.

Did you buy the headers from a vendor or directly from Headman? I'd go to the vendor, and let them deal with Headman, they usually have a little more stroke.

It's happened on nearly every header I've seen at least once. The LS1 is just too badass to keep the exhaust contained! A guy blew his Kooks nameplate off a while back, and George from Kooks came in and offered to replace it IIRC.

For every case of someone having a bung blow off, there's 100 others who have no problems, block-offs or not.

If you had it blocked off i highly doubt hedman will warranty it for you. Like blur said, every header has had this issue when they are blocked off. Thats why im getting race style headers and wont have to deal with that.

I had a set of Hooker LT's and the same thing happened with my right side AIR tube. I ended up ditching them and bought QTP Race Headers.
