you can run 5ish PSI on a everything stock car but you should prolly have it tuned first for the fuel and timing

negative ghostrider.

Do not boost at all, not even one short pull. Get it tuned. It's ok to drive the car like grandma, but don't go beyond that.

+1
The stock timing is waaaaaaay high with factory compression and without tuning for fuel you are just looking for a broken piston. It HAS to say that in the STS literature somewhere.

If you have bigger injectors installed, you need to have it towed. That much extra fuel can wash the cylinders out.

It is definitely not worth the risk after you put that much work into it. Just tow it to be safe.

I didn't even think of driving mine until I had a tune to back the damn stock timing out of it first of all and to richen it up a bit. I really dont think it's worth cruising around trying not to boost, it's just too damn hard when you hear that thing spooling up to not hammer down... just my .02.

No need to tow it. Drive it to the tune shop with stock tuning and injectors. DON'T get into boost though, or bye bye motor. Then take 15 minutes at the shop to install the injectors. This will save you hundreds on the cost of towing.

question then for you guys now getting ready to put everything back together on my sts build now i got different heads and all and new springs i have to drive on them to let them heat up and cool down before i go straight to the dyno,or risk the chance of breaking the valvesprings, now i also go bigger injectors 42"s now can i install them and drive on them to get my valvesprings worn in, or will i wash out my cylinders not having the tuning on the bigger injectors? to much gas going into them

It was just posted above.... just swap the injectors out at the tuner's shop, they take like 15-20minutes.

I agree with frost, I changed my injectors in the parking lot and I put my 2bar Map sensor in also. I was just real careful not to go crazy on the highway, Then I realized that driving in L.A. during rush hour, the only thing going crazy was me Sometimes I hate living here, mainly when I want to get on the highway and but then stop cause all the cars. oh well time for a
