Honing a 98 Block?

Honing a 98 Block?
I have quite a few parts gathered together for a little build I have planned. I was actually collecting parts before I had the car. Now I have a slight problem that I'm unsure of.
I was reading one of my LS1/LS6 books the other night and noticed it said that 98 blocks can only be honed .004 over stock. The problem is that the pistons I have are for a 3.905 bore. 3.905 - 3.898 = .007, .007 doesn't equal .004.
Is there any truth to this or is this just incorrect data? I tried searching on here, but didn't find anything helpful.
Thanks.

Word of mouth is that it is ok to go over .005-.007 (but gm recommends a max of .004) but recommend to keep it N.A.
