TSP True Duals
as many of you may know by reading some of my posts...im getting rid of my loudmouth now that i have lt's and ory. i want something quiet at idle with some grunt at wot. i have been seriously considering a hooker catback. today, i was playin on texas-speed.com today and i noticed how cheap i could get true duals for. I already did a search AND listened on ls1sounds.com but i want to know from the guys who have them, how do you like them? my main concern is ground clearance. how low do the pipes hang? i live in pa and the roads suck so they need to tuck underneath there pretty good. is it relatively quiet at idle? enough so that my pesky, no good, tree hugging, civic driving neighbors wont call the cops on me for starting my car? my mods are in my sig if that helps. and pics would be nice

I went with the hooker and love it. I would like TD's but for a cam+ bolt on car TS's would be very loud in my opinion. I am very happy with my exhaust, if you want it louder you could always put a e-cut out in.

If you take your time when installing them they can tuck up nicely. I don't have any clearance pictures but I can easily stick a soda can under the exhaust (stock ride height). My car is pretty loud @ idle on cold starts but once it warms up the idle calms down significantly. If I had to guess yours will probably be pretty loud since you have a cam.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my duals. I'll probably never go back to a y-pipe/CB setup again.

I daily drive mine with a big nasty can, love the sound, have no clearance issues and I'm lowered too. Very happy with the product. I recommend the Sweet Thunder muffler option.
As for neighbors bitching, I would and have told mine, when they start making payments for me then they can bitch. want. Until then, they should and will shut the **** up and enjoy the sound of freedom.

It's hard to say with a cam, but with bolt-ons, any full exhaust set-up with cats would be perfect. Throw in some cut-outs before the cats if you like (I would.)

i dont think i'd really need to put cats on it if i got the hooker catback. from what i've heard, they're pretty tame at idle. thats my main concern, how loud it is at idle. i still want SOME grunt from the mid-upper rpm range

It sounds like you already have your mind set on them. I cant tell you how its going to sound with a cam like you have. Mine isn't too loud with a stock cam. The ground clearance that I have is enough to go over some decent size speed bumps. I haven't scraped on anything yet. In the video your car looked like it was raised up in the rear more so then mine.
Another thing is when you are installing the exhaust if you do it on the ground or a drive on lift then you will be able to tuck it up more. But once it goes onto a lift where the suspension hangs, then the torque arm will have a ton of pressure on the exhaust. I did mine on a lift where the suspension hangs and I still have enough ground clearance. I just took a tranny jack with a block of wood and jacked it up until it touched the torque arm.
P.S. that **** sounds sweet as it is!

thanx man, its too loud and raspy for me. i like it but i cant handle it drivin everyday. i think the cam just really makes it a lot worse with the loudmouth.
