Header bolt hell!

Header bolt hell!
I know this sounds stupid but I can not for the life of me get the header bolts started in. Any tips for this? I was thinking of using some small steel rod to make all the holes line up and then putting in the bolts. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
James

Its easier to have someone hold the header while you get a couple bolts started in. I didnt have anyone to help so I just used a bunjee chord and did my best to prop it up. You will get it, its just a pain in the ***.

Make sure you have the right bolts first. If you do, try this...
Lift up on the header and hold it in place with one hand. Thread the bolts with the other.
Or, just start the first bolt this way. Then put a jack under the header and use that to hold it in place. That way, both of your hands are free.

Well I have everything installed now! I just had my brother hold the header from the bottom and I bolted them right up. The car sounds AWSOME with LT's Catted Y and LM1.. Just idling it isnt any louder than the LM1 with stock manifolds. But once you hit the 2500 RPM mark you know you have LT's..
Anyone looking to do a LT install and might have second thoughts. JUST DO IT! It took me about 7 hours total to do the complete header install and remove the AIR & EGR.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out here. I love this FORUM!

I went with the cats for two reasons.. rasp and the gas smell. I only drove it for about 5 minutes last night after i got it all put back together. I did not hear any rasp at all. So far i am very happy with the set up. I also did a radio test. I drove at about 55mph in 5th gear and my car was still reasonably quiet I did not have to really crank it up or anything. I was also still able to have a conversation on my cell with my wife. But there is a HUGE sound difference once you hit the 2500RPMish mark. and at WOT it sounds like the world is going to end I love it!

Congrats on the install. I did as stated above when and used a jack stand to hold up the header. Looks like we need to line them up sometime before you pass me up in the mod department, lol. I'm not living in Plymouth anymore, but I'm still working there so maybe I'll see you around. And BTW is sounds bad *** if you drive WOT under the overpass when you are taking that back road to Lowes.
