Default Absolute Speed Stage 2 Heads Dyno #'s

I just had my car tuned and dyno'd at AMS by Chris. Here's the #'s, without an LS6 intake or ASP pulley:

391 RWHP
385 RWTQ

Then Chris richened it up a little for the street, and my drive off #'s were:

387.6 RWHP
378.8 RWTQ

Numbers seem a low for those heads and cam. I just got my Absolute Heads a few days ago, and can't wait to install them.

What do the heads flow?

Dan, I don't have any before #'s. That's the first time for the car to be on the dyno. My best 1/4 mile time was 12.9 @ 109, before any mods were done.

Bill, I was told that that DynoJet dyno's low compared to other dyno's in the area by about 20 or so HP. But that just means that the other dyno's in the area could be dynoing a little high. I'm happy with the #'s, considering that I don't have an LS6 intake, ASP pulley, cutout, and didn't do any dyno tricks for those #'s.

BTW here's what my heads flowed w/2.02/1.57 valves and 209cc intake runners. Keep in mind that the exhaust is flowed without a tube.

200 159 107
300 212 146
400 267 193
450 284 203
500 296 217
550 301 220
600 307 223

I hope the flow sheet looks like that with the heads I ordered from Absolute Speed... Were they the 5.7 Heads? How much were they milled?

Those numbers are not bad, but I'm hopeing the dyno was reading low for you, but, an LS6 intake, pulley, and cutout would be worth an easy 20 RWHP <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Hey 2001 Pewter WS6, they are the 5.7L '98 heads, and the comp ratio is 10.9:1. So whatever needs to be milled off to go from 10.1:1 to 10.9:1.

Dan, I was kinda hoping for some 400 RWHP #'s, I won't lie to you. But I don't think I got one of the faster ones from the factory. But I'm deffinantly not disappointed in the #'s. It's a good place to be, and to work from. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Let us know how the heads do for both of you.

John,

Get the pully on, and with a LS6 Intake you will be over 400hp easy.

Do you have NGK TR-55 plugs in your car??

I didn't realize that you didn't have the pulley or the LS6 intake. With those you would definately be over 400rwhp....

Hey mrb, yes I do have the TR-55 in, and they're gapped at .050.

As for the LS6 intake, maybe my wife will get it for me for Christmas <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Hey we can hope right??
