Fixin to be a bitch with those big wheels, skinnies it isnt bad, on a street car like yours, leave it in. You'll thank your self later, I have lost power steering before, its not fun with 17s. Once your moving its ok, other wise a pain in the ***. Buddies 93 had skinnies and the mad man kit, wasnt to bad, but skinnies make it easier.

its much harder to turn a hydraulic ps rack with no fluid, then it is a manual rack, it wont be horrible.

hmm even with the rack having fluid in it if i looped the wires still would be hard? i would love to relocate the fluid box somewhere else out of site... maybe on the frame near the battery..

If you want to get rid of it you really need to buy a manual rack. Just looping it will "work" but you won't like it for long at all and it'll make you never want to drive your car.

The $200 racks are not going to just bolt on. Unless you or a close friend have some fabrication skills, it could easily end up costing more that a bolt on rack. The bolt on racks run around $500, and still require some brackets to be welded on.

I loved manual steering. To me, it was more responsive and consistant. It's only harder to turn when moving very slowly or at a stop, like when backing out of a parking space or whatever.

If it's cheap, easy, and saves considerable weight, I'd do it in a heart beat. However, I don't think the weight savings would be at all justified in a street car. You's save what? About 20 lbs.? Would clean up the engine bay a tad for a show car, though.
