Default Just finished the C5 brake upgrade

Even though this is an "old" mod in terms of so many people already having done this. I also upgraded with front and rear Prothane sway bar bushings and end links, and painted the front spindles, sway bars, and differential with Rust Bullet.

I really like the looks of them. Considering how time I invested in detailing them, I will certainly hope I like them! Since I am still putting her together (completing the transmission install), I haven't driven with them on yet. I will know by next weekend though!

After getting all the little odds and ends hooked up, I finally broke the brakes in tonight per the Hawk instructions. They felt smooth (no pulsing like the OEM rotors). I will find out tomorrow how they do under some hard decel.

Which adapter brackets did you use? UMI, Kore3, LG?

I used an original set of Bob Bishop brackets I bought last year from a fellow LS1tech member. I believe the design was purchased by another company. I don't recall the name (trick.... something). This design required that I cut the lower spindle ear off.

are those corvette rear brakes also? or did you just clean up and paint the rear stock ones? i've been wondering if a full either C5 or Z06 brake swap is possible possible without spending enough money to fund a big brake swap lol.

TrackBrackets is what they're called now. TrackBird purchased the rights, design, etc. There's more info on the frrax.com site if you're interested.

The rear calipers are the oem Camaro v8 calipers. They are essentially the same part as the c5/zo6 calipers. However, the z06 calipers are powder coated red. The c5/z06 and Camaro rear rotors are the same size also, except the c5/z06 rotors do not come with the e-brake drum built per the Camaro rotors. I didn't want to lose the Camaro e-brake, and since the differences were cosmetic only (powder coated), I just cleaned and painted them to match to save $.
