Default Heads for boost, valve size???

I am getting ready to order my heads. I am going with the Patriot Performance Stage II LQ9s. They are offered in 2.02 intake valve and 2.055 ( no difference in price )

What are the ups and downs of either???

(this is for a forged 383/MP122 build)

i would think the larger valve size would be better assuming your picking the right compnets

FWIW, I don't think a 2.10" valve will work with a 3.905" bore.

Mine have 2.055"/1.60" valves. I can't really say which will be better with FI.

Sure they will. I had 2.10" intake and 1.6" exhaust valves in my 5.3L heads on my 383 which had a 3.905" bore.

I stand corrected. I wonder why we rarely see any companies offer a 243 head with larger than 2.055" valves? It seems when a head is available with 2.08" or larger valves, they're usually marketed for a 4.00" or 4.125" bore. Just a thought.

I would imagine it is because a large majority of people run N/A due to the cheaper costs. Valve shrouding would definitely become a concern and large valved heads are typically harder to cam correctly due to cylinder fill. A little different when your pressurizing the chamber past ambient.
