Default Differences in years on the LS1

Where can I find the changes in LS1 engines from year to year?

I'm looking at grabbing a 97 vette LS1 and would like to know if I should stay away from the earlier years, or if any changes were minor.

97-98 block have very small oil breath by in the bottom end and the heads are designed with parameter bolts and those block are prone to oiling problems cussing spun bearing and such..

u can still make a lot of power with these blocks but if you get one find a good machine shop that can machine bigger oiling passages in the bottom end and replace the heads with 243 ls6 or if your going to turbo it use the 317 6.0 truck heads will drop comp to about 9.5:1

lots of us run 98 blocks without issue.. but if i had my choice i would go with a 99 or above as stated.. unless it was a helava deal on the 98.
