Did I spin a bearing!!??
Ok, goin to work yesterday. pay toll, and as soon as i leave i stomp it and fly to round 50 mph. then i just cruise and i hear this noise, it sounds like an exhaust leak! Im like WTF. so i get to work and check things out, its a rattling sound, like something is moving around, but it sounds like its coming from Inside the engine but i cant tell, its not too loud. But everyime i drive it sounds like a leak from the header. any one kno wut this could be. ill try to get a video a lil later

A spun bearing normally is a knock and does it no matter what. At idle it will knock and it will increase with the rpm, that is bad for business. A collapsed lifter is usually faint at idle and when you rev it it will clank where ever the collapsed lifter is back down to idle.

now my english skills get in the way, but you can know spuned bearing sound by couple of things,
when its not that bad, it dont knocks when the car is cold, and start knocking when the oil get hotter,
bend down and notice if you can hear the knock sound from under the car to,
push the throttle and let it go, when you take your foot of the throttle the knocking should get a littlebit higher, crankshaft bearings knock highest when the "force" is neutral,

I got a http://youtube.com/watch?v=p8FHYceG0Y0. What do u think it is? Could u deaden the sound by putting in heavy duty oil?

so, how do i go about correcting the problem, if it IS in fact, a lifter. Just add a little bit of heavier oil, also i am about 1000 miles OVER my oil change, if tht has anything to do with it.

You can only "hide" a sound for so long before the problem starts to spread and affect other parts. An engine has many parts that work harmonically and if one goes bad, the rest of the stuff starts going bad. Next thing you know your cam lobe is showing excess wear and scarring, then your cam bearings take on more stress.
The BEST thing you can do it pop the valve covers off remove the rocker arms (10mm) and take ALL the pushrods out and roll them on a flat surface. If any of them wobble just the slightest it can do some damage later on down the road.
Im betting you have some bent pushrods.
Check out TSP, they have some Comp cams Magnum rods that they put their names on, and are .080 thick(I believe). Great pushrods, and take much much more abuse.
When you put your rocker arms back on torque to 22lbft.

*Problem Fixed* Went to my local Tuffys, and all it was, was the heat shield by the headers, both the bolts had wobbled loose, and was rattling. Sure sounded like it was coming from the engine, but its all fixed, and they didnt charge me!

while were on the subject, what causes u to spin a bearing? Because I always hear people s aying they were brake torquing it, or stompin on it a lot, and people would say "that's what u get for doing a burnout" or something like tht. So how can you avoid spinning a bearing?
