ypipe and manifold differences
would stock manifolds from an 02 bolt up to the ypipe on a 99? I know the manifolds are a bit different (and slightly better), but do they meet up to the ypipe in the same location?

then why are all ory's for stock manifolds specific to either the 98 style or the 02 style setups.
check out stainlessworks.com website to see what im talking about. Mac also makes a ypipe that they only claim fits the 98 style setup.

The 00-02 y pipes have different cats and a different y-pipe but I'm unsure if the manifolds from an 00+ car will work on a y made for the stock 99 manifolds. I've necer seen both up close to know.

No, they will not match up on the passenger side.
The drivers side uses the same cat for all years.
The passenger side cat on the 98 and 99 cars is under the floor, where as the 00-02 cars the cat bolts directly to the manifold. because of this the "down pipe" on the earlier manifolds is closer to the fire wall.
This is also why people with the later manifolds can reach spark plug # 8 from under the car; try to do that with a 1998 or 1999.
