You should post this in the LT1 section:
LT1-LT4 Modifications
1993-97 Gen II Small Block V8
Peace,
Craig.

First of all, this should probably be posted in the LT1 section and you'll get a lot more responses.
1. You do NOT have to remove your exhaust (if it is stock) to change ANY of the plugs.
2. You SHOULD NOT have to remove the starter unless you have huge hands and arms.
3. All of the passenger side plugs can be reached from the top. You may have to lie on top of the engine to get them, but they can be reached. And yes, go ahead and take the alternator off for the one near it.
4. The plugs really aren't that hard...it's the wires that will give you the trouble, especially routing them through the passenger side/alt bracket/power steering pump. Also, the rearmost wire on the driver's side is a bitch due to the fact that it's routed through a metal shield next to the manifold.
5. Take you time.

If you have an A/C gauge set and a vacuum pump or a friend with both you can take the compressor out and you have access to all four on that side. That is the way I did mine and I had a lot less problems and had plenty of room. That is the way I will do them in the future if needed. I have pretty big arms and I still had plenty of room with the compressor out. The compressor is really not hard to get in and out. Three front housing bolts, on rear bracket bolt and the line assembly bolt and the thing slides out easily. Take the line assembly out and that makes it really easy to get to the plugs, you can work around it though. Don't forget the belt.

Great news for me
I was wondering with all the different posts weither it could be done with only removing the alternator.
Its not that hard but this is the hardest model to do I dont have to do crap to change them out of any other Camaros (ie 2nd,3rd and 4th LS1 Gens)
Later!

I only removed the alternator, loosened the ps pump to get the wires around and under, was a pain but it worked. I did 2,4,6 from top and 8 from the bottom

it's a bitch i know. i did do them tho. I had to do what's known as the "superman" where you lay across the car inorder to get the passenger side.
Get headers it becomes a lot easier after you install LT headers on the car.

I did 2, 4, & 6 from the top without removing anything. 2 did suck a bit, but was not as bad as 8 in my opinion. I had to do 8 from underneath, once again without taking anything off. Just be patient.
