Default need help fast....t/b question

ok, i bought a ported t/b from a user here who said it was a 00...He also said he had used it on his 98..which i didnt think would work...anyways...i just installed it on my car which is also a 00...cams on the t/b are the same size so i figure it is from a 00....The t/b had the bump stop mod done to it also...I just put it on my car and my car will not stay running...will go when gas is depressed but will not idle, just dies......Can the screw be adjusted to make it work or has it probly been ground down too much with the bump stop mod...Thanks,,oh yea when i gave it some gas the car kinda back fired..

bump stop mod is for WOT. The idle screw or whatever you want to call it is in the front. Does your old one have a small hole in the throttle blade? Does the new one?

i think, 2000+ had an idle adjustment screw. if not, you may have to make the computer relearn the idle. unplug the TPS and IAC, turn the key on/run position, (dont start) and leave it for a few minutes. then come back, turn the key off, plug the sensors back in and turn it on for a few more minutes. come back and start the car.

yes, it can be adjusted, if you crank the screw in, it will move the idle up, out will move it down....IAC and TPS are the 2 sensors on the TB.

Check the hole in the TB blade and compare it to the one in your stocker. It may have been drilled out for a Cammed car.

I would disconnect the battery ground. Unplug all the sensors and make sure they are in correctly. Reconnect the battery. Make sure your PCV hose is connected. restart the car and see what happens.

if you unplug the battery, make sure you shut it off and start it again, or it will idle irratically untill the PCM finds an idle again.

coolent hose wont do anything, i waited about enough time to go inside, get a beer and come back out. 2 minutes tops. then shut it off, plug them back in and get another beer, then shut it off, get another beer and start it.

A4 or M6?
A4 should idle around 700 RPM and an M6 at 800. id say your tach is off a little. if it was infact idling at 300-400 RPM, it wouldnt run at all.
