Default what piston would you guys recomend for <18 >8 psi

im really not sure where this motor will hit on psi but i do know that if i stay with the d1sc i'm going to need more compression and a better set of heads.

im looking at having the motor at atleast 9.3 CR but probably closer to 10.0 CR .... right now the motor is at about 7.9 CR so it will be a durastic difference throught the whole power curve....

i need any where from a -10cc to a -15cc piston (dished) with fly cuts already in it on intake and exhaust made for a 4.030 bore, 4'' stroke, 6.125 rod... (408) (i might have to make the fly cuts deeper like i did on my damn -32cc pistons from weisco )

im pretty sure i can make my car run what i want with this small of a blower... plus i really dont want any more heat or belt issues than i've already had/fixed

it sure would be nice to crack off a 5.7x in the 8th with a itty bitty d1sc with a A2A IC.

at first i didnt realize what direction i wanted to go with this motor so it wasnt pieced together very well for what its doing now.... im going to go back and put a little more thought in changes that will be done over the winter for the setup i have now and make it more effecient.

I ran 5.801 best with the D1SC/347, its not that hard

One day I'll get the F1A to the track with some decent weather since a 5.77 is the best on the F1A on a 90 degree day

But I would stay around 9.5:1.

why do you not like going higher than 9.5? what dislikes do you have about the F1A compared to the d1sc do you have... Except for being louder

5.9x-6.0x with the 3.4 pulley and 6.0x-6.1x on the 3.7 pulley. The Pinks thing at Bristol (3500+ DA, 80*) was 6.09-6.11 in the 1/8 with the 3.7 at around 12psi. In atlanta for the year one thing it ran 5.90s with the 3.7 @ 2500' DA, 75*

Just dont think its really necessary to go over 9.5 or so unless you are going for some kind of class like renegade where you are limited by blower/turbo size and you need that few hundreths extra. Dont try to go from one extreme to another

I have nothing against the F1A, its back on the car now, but it has the 4.25 pulley on it. I changed the oil in it and have been driving the car around a little and it seems to making less noise the more I use it. Plus it has really loosened up from when it was new. When it gets cooler out I'm going to try a brand new belt, max tension and max it out with a 3.7 pulley and see what it will do. I just want to want to spend a little time with it slowed down on a cool day to see if I should sell off the D1.

Plus I'd like to swap the 3.50 gear in the car but I do more 1/8 mile racing lately then 1/4 mile so I hate to lose out in the 1/8 just to pick up a few mph in the 1/4. This thing is tapped out at 1300'

the extra heat and a harder to turn blower on a poor 8rib scares me... eventually i'd like to get the car back out on the street a little more with a liberty t56 and play with it at the track like that also... i'm never going to make money with this car so my focus is not just what class to win in but where i can have the most fun.... let me know what happens with that f1a (im sure you will)

Its all in the hands of mother nature for me right now, if I get a good day at a good track it will run well. While I had some excellent weather days with the D1SC everytime I bolted the F1A on it got hot out. I put it on and it was 82 degrees in January at Carolina, 95 at London, 92 at BG the last time. Put the D1 back on and its 80 degrees in Bristol in June, 75 degrees in atlanta in late may. I bolted the F1 on after Pinks July 22nd and it has been the hottest summer here ever - 26 days of over 90 degree temps. I refuse to take the F1A off so now we have a drought here in east tennessee..

So I may put the d1 back on, wait for a good weather day since it will come with the D1. Then swap it at the track to the F1A - then I'll probbaly get hit by lightning

lol... sounds like my luck whenever i get ready to go out on the boat and go wakeboarding... it always rains... but i havent been wakeboarding in several weeks so its a drought here in west ky also...

i keep thinking of all the things that need to be done to the car and it makes my head spin... im very young and on a pretty tight budget and having a race car doesnt always mix well...

things i need to upgrade:

k member - upper lower a arms
front brakes
larger headers and collectors (atleast 1 7/8, probably go to 2 inch)
swap my eaton posi to a spool
swap 4.10 gears for a 3.73
BS3
swap pistons
swap stock heads for aftermarket castings
needs all new valvetrain
I'd like to have a t56 in it at some point
and last but not least i still need to take off these damn stock plug wires... i always forget to add them to my order from summit/jegs...

Well it aint cheap, I dont even like to think what I have in this car and its a 'budget' build. Even thouigh its easy to get caught up in the numbers game, as long as you are having fun and making progress just do the most important things first and get what you can out of the parts you have.
