Default How to do bergel panel mod?

Ok guys, i was wondering if anyone on here did the bergel mod themselves I was wondering if i could just leave it on the car, wet sand it down, mask everything off, and just shoot it with a can of flat black? You think tht would work, or do uneed to be more precise?

It's pretty easy to take the panel off to be more precise. I actually bought another panel for pretty cheap so I could have back up

Done a couple myself. First of all search it's on here, but for the lazy ones....

1: Get an old panel, LT1 or LS1 will do they are the same.
2: Strip all old paint from your new berger panel by wet sanding, creating a smooth surface on the entire panel. !important step!
3: Now that your smooth as a baby's ***, give it a coat or two of primer.
Let set and dry.
4: Spray painting flat black is pretty easy, just be smooth in your "strokes" Give it a few coats until your happy with it, let dry...and enjoy!

I don't think I'm forgetting anything...

EDIT: take it off the car, it will look like **** otherwise.

Lift your hatch and take off both back panels (speaker panels), take out tire and jack stuff. Then push forward the carpet to access the tail light screw things, and the 4 bolts holding the panel on. Pretty self explanatory once you see it and very easy to do.

They are like 10 bucks from a junkyard, me and 99camarosupersport did mine in like a half day, including driving to the junkyard.

There is a stickey in the appearance section w/ pics and instructions. Easy mod to do and makes your car stand out from the others.

It sucks when this is the best looking appearance mod and your cars already black.

Me and my bro did it the easiest way possible, haha. Go to a friends house with your cars and just swap everything out.

It does, and I've told my bro that many times when he first did it, haha. It's a 2tone deal now though, black hood, trunk lid, 18" black wheels, etc so it looks a tad better but still not for me.
